The Catalan Giants have agreed a deal worth €30m+€31m (in variables) for the 18 year old, who made his senior international debut for Brazil in March, but don't intend for him to arrive at Camp Nou until 2024.The variables include €26M based on his goals, matches played and trophies won. The rest €5M is for being in the Top3 for the FIFA best player award. The Brazilian Club will also have 20% of future sales if Roque is sold for more than €61M in the upcoming years.
There had been suggestions that Athletico were not prepared to wait until next year, instead pushing Barcelona to complete the transfer this summer.
But the sheer determination of Roque to join Barca didn't cause any hurdles or involvement of any other big clubs in the deal. The clubs reached a pre agreement back in June when the CEO of Athletico arrived himself for completing the deal.
Roque has agreed a deal untill 2030/31 to stay at Barca and is scheduled to link up with team in January, which could provide Xavi with some much needed firepower for the second half of next season.
It is important to remember that he could join this summer as well if there is enough space in FFP.
